While we source exotic materials and manufacture wood furniture globally to achieve a wide variety of styles and artisan finishes, the process is managed by  Lexington’s team of experts.  Upholstered furniture, such as sofas, sectionals, chairs, benches, outdoor seating, etc., is hand-tailored by skilled upholstery experts at our dedicated upholstery plants in Hickory, North Carolina.

Does Tommy Bahama Home offer performance fabrics for families and everyday living?  Yes. Tommy Bahama Home offers a wide selection of performance fabrics called SmartCare through our Made-to-Order upholstery program, including trusted brands such as Crypton, Sunbrella, Revolution, and InsideOut Performance Fabrics. Many of these fabrics are designed to resist stains, spills, fading, and everyday wear while maintaining a soft, luxurious hand.

For an added layer of protection, outdoor performance fabrics can also be applied to many indoor upholstery frames, making them an excellent choice for active households. Performance fabrics are especially well-suited for a home with young kids, rental properties, vacation homes, and high-traffic living spaces where durability and easy care are essential.

Cleaning and care features vary by fabric. While some performance fabrics are bleach-cleanable, not all are. Always refer to the specific fabric's cleaning code and care instructions for recommended cleaning methods.

Is Tommy Bahama outdoor furniture weather-resistant? Yes. Our outdoor collections are engineered for the elements. We utilize:

  • Powder-coated aluminum frames (rust-proof).
  • All-weather synthetic wicker (UV-resistant).
  • Sustainably harvested teak finished with a protective sealer (to maintain its color)
  • Protective sealer on White Agate stone top
  • Performance Fabrics
  • Seating – Designed to deliver exceptional comfort without compromising durability. Deep, generously proportioned cushions provide a luxurious seating experience, while premium performance materials and engineered construction are built to withstand the elements. Can I customize outdoor cushions? Yes. Customization and design services are available in-store at an authorized retailer.  Our outdoor upholstery is Made-to-Order in North Carolina. You can choose from hundreds of high-performance outdoor fabrics to coordinate your patio or outdoor space with your interior design or choose your own material using our COM (customer’s own material) program.

Do you offer interior design services? Yes. Our Tommy Bahama Home stores and most of our authorized dealers/retailers offer complimentary design consultations. Experts can assist with room layouts, fabric selection/coordination, and whole-home furnishing projects for primary and secondary residences.  Interior Design services are not currently available online through TommyBahamaFurniture.com. How long does delivery take? Delivery timelines vary. When ordering online, in-stock items typically ship within a couple of weeks, at which time one of our specialized delivery partners will reach out to schedule an in-home delivery.  Made-to-Order custom upholstery requires additional time for hand-craftsmanship in our North Carolina facilities. Our online team or a local retailer/dealer can provide a specific delivery estimate for your order.
